Senior Care Worker

We offer free nationally recognised training and provide PPE according to the government guidelines.

Responsibilities

Personal Care / Putting to Bed / Toileting: Services to be provided may include, but are not confined to assisting clients with:
Getting up and going to bed.
Washing and bathing to maintain personal hygiene.
Dressing and undressing.
Toileting and management of continence.
Meals: Eating and drinking which may include preparation of food.
Supervising Clients with meals/meals on wheels.
Preparing light snacks.
Cooking meals within the permitted/allocated time.
Providing clients with hot/ cold drinks as per the care plan.
Feeding Clients that are unable to do so for themselves as per client’s dietary needs.
Medication: Assisting Clients with medication prompting, applying eye/ear drops, and applying cream as directed.
Medications to be only prompted from Dossett box – clearly labelled with client’s name, date of birth and address.
Medications to be either placed in a small medication beaker or the as per client’s preference.
Supervise the client whilst they are taking the medication.
Ensure the Dossett box is kept in a secure location.
Apply creams/ lotions as instructed and wash hands immediately afterward.
Record the medication taken on the daily report sheet and medication chart.
Report any refusal of medication immediately to an agency/office.
Domestic Services / Escort service / Sitter
Housework – simple household tasks / Ironing / Laundry, making beds and changing bed linen
Pension or other benefits collection, paying bills and shopping
Accompanying clients for hospital appointments and social inclusion.
To stay with the client for an agreed amount of hours and depending on the amount of time provide some or all of the above
Handling and collecting client's pension or other benefits
As an authorized collection of weekly money from social services
Issue a receipt for the money collected and hand it to the client and gain acknowledgment
Financial transaction to be recorded in the client's care plan on every visit
Submit financial transactions record which includes shopping done, bills paid, and balance returned to client to the office on weekly basis with a written report

Other responsibilities

To be directly responsible for supervising and organizing the team of home care workers assigned to you as a care team.
To have continuing responsibility for ensuring that excellent levels of communication internally and externally are maintained on a daily basis.
To maintain legible and concise records internally and externally.
To carry out home visits and to monitor, evaluate and review staff performance during that visit
To carry out home and risk assessment and provide compete for relevant documents
To work in conjunction with the quality assurance officer, care co-coordinator and care manager in ensuring that the key requirements for monitoring staff performance are implemented.
To ensure that daily routines are carried out correctly and efficiently by the care team by direct observation and through assessment and that they understand the importance of holistic care.
To carry/get involved in induction, supervision and appraisal sessions
To carry out any other duties required for this post.
To provide on-call cover as and when required.

Experience / Skills

Must commit to working a minimum of 42 hours per week and 1 day over the weekend
Have previous care experience
Good Communication
A caring nature and desire to make a difference in someone’s life as key characteristics
A decent level of English – both written and spoken
Polite and Patient when communicating with individuals
Approachable and supportive to individuals

No previous experience in care? No problem, full training is provided, we still would like to hear from you!

To work with us, it is not a requirement that you have previous experience in care! Full training is provided, therefore all we require is for you to be kind, caring, adaptable, and hardworking, it is that simple! Care is a team effort, so we are also looking for team players, who able to work well under pressure and with others.
